Denny was born in Iowa to Paul and Doris Wardlow on March 14th of 1947. They moved to South Dakota in 1952 and lived in Madison, S.D. until 1954. In 1954, they moved to Sioux Falls where Denny's Dad Sold cars and Denny's Mom went to work for Sunshine Foods.
Denny attended school in Sioux Falls, graduated from Washington High school in 1965. He joined the Navy and was stationed in Florida, where they went back and forth to Cuba by boat.
When Denny got out of the Navy he moved to Minneapolis where he met Patty Gross and they married in 1979. They later divorced. Denny worked at Pennys grocery store in the Cities and later went to work driving a delivery truck for Smith Trucking. After they closed, he drove for Crouse Carthage Carriers and then went to work at Trio Supply after he retired from Crouse.
Denny's life has been mostly spent in the Minneapolis area. Denny enjoyed hunting and fishing which he did a lot of. Denny also enjoyed playing softball in the summers and Bowling in the winter. He was very active and enjoyed sports of about any kind.
Denny found that he really enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson, which he had owned a couple of them. The last was a 2005 Harley Davidson sportster XL 1200 series. We hope Richard enjoys riding Denny's motorcycle now. And, that Evie enjoys Denny's Equinox also. He loved that motorcycle and truck.... He never got the chance to ride his motorcycle this summer which he was planning on riding it here for our family reunion.
Denny died in a horrendous car crash this April, On his way to do something he loved a Bowling tournement in Las Vegas, the accident happened Fairplay Colorado. His life was taken so fast that no one got to say goodbye to him. A very nice lady held Denny's hand as he died and told him that his family loved him very much. We will alway appreciate what she did for him, she covered him with shirts and her blanket to try to keep him warm as the Trauma surgeon tried to save him...
Denny is buried at Hills of Rest Cemetary in Sioux Falls, SD. Close to his parents and a lot of his family. Denny is missed by his brother, sister, the rest of his family and friends.
